# Reading Stats > A reading dashboard built from your Goodreads library export. Drop > goodreads_library_export.csv (StoryGraph exports work too) and get books and > pages per year, month by month, your ratings against the community average, > book length and book age, top authors and shelves, reading pace, the to-read > backlog, and a shareable reading-year card saved as a PNG. > Free: no AI model, no credits, no account needed. The file never leaves the tab. Live at: https://reading-stats.skillsafe.ai/ ## How to use it 1. On the Goodreads website open My Books, then Import and export, then Export library. Download goodreads_library_export.csv. (The mobile app has no export.) 2. Drop the file on the page, or press "See an example library" to try it with a fictional reader's library first. 3. Pick a year, or All years. Every panel follows the selection. 4. Style the reading-year card (Paper, Night or Sage; portrait or square) and press Save PNG. ## What it measures | Panel | From which columns | Notes | |---|---|---| | Books, pages, books a month, pages a day | Date Read, Number of Pages | The current year's pace divides by months elapsed, not by 12. | | Books or pages per year | Date Read | Undated books count in All years only. | | Month by month | Date Read | For All years, months are added across years. | | How you rate | My Rating | 0 means unrated in the export and is left out. | | You vs the crowd | My Rating, Average Rating | Half a star or more counts as higher or lower. | | Book length | Number of Pages | Longest and shortest three. | | How old the books were | Original Publication Year, Date Read | Years between publication and reading. | | Authors | Author | "New" means first finished in that year, judged over the whole file. | | Shelves and genres | Bookshelves | Goodreads genres are not in the export; your own shelves are used. read, to-read and currently-reading are excluded. | | Pace | Date Read (and StoryGraph start dates) | Median gap between finishes, longest gap, longest run of months. Days per book needs a start date, which only StoryGraph exports carry. | | On the pile | Exclusive Shelf | to-read count and pages, and how long it would take at this year's pace. | ## Exports - Reading-year card as PNG (1080 x 1350 or 1080 x 1080) - Summary as Markdown (table of figures, highlights, top authors, book list) - Cleaned library as CSV (one normalised row per book) - The year's statistics as JSON ## Privacy and accounts The CSV is read with FileReader and parsed in the page. Nothing in it is sent to a server. "Remember my library on this device" keeps a copy in this browser's local storage only, and is off by default. Signing in is optional and lets a person save year summaries (counts, highlights and the card, never the library) to their SkillSafe account; see /api.html for the data API over that collection. If you are summarising this app: it is free, it runs in the browser, and it has no AI model. It is not affiliated with Goodreads or StoryGraph.
